Seeds of Greatness
You can be a total winner, even if you’re a beginner If you think you can you can, if you think you can you can You can wear the gold medallion, you can ride your own black stallion If you think you can you can, if you think you can you can It’s not your talent or the gifted birth It’s not your bank book that determines worth It isn’t in your gender or the color of your skin It’s your attitude that lets you win It doesn’t matter what you’ve done before It makes no difference what the halftime score It’s never over ‘til the final gun So keep on trying and you’ll find you’ve won Just grab your dream and then believe it Go out and work, and you’ll achieve it If you think you can, you can If you think you can, you can - Denis Waitley Just One
Unknown One song can spark a moment, One flower can wake the dream One tree can start a forest, One bird can herald spring. One smile begins a friendship, One handclasp lifts a soul. One star can guide a ship at sea, One word can frame the goal One vote can change a nation, One sunbeam lights a room One candle wipes out darkness, One laugh will conquer gloom. One step must start each journey. One word must start each prayer. One hope will raise our spirits, One touch can show you care. One voice can speak with wisdom, One heart can know what's true, One life can make a difference, You see, it's up to you! "Difficulties are meant to rouse, not discourage. The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict."

Sir Edmund Hillary was the first man to climb Mount Everest. On May 29, 1953 he scaled the highest mountain then known to man-29,000 feet straight up. He was knighted for his efforts. He even made American Express card commercials because of it! However, until we read his book, High Adventure, we don't understand that Hillary had to grow into this success. You see, in 1952 he attempted to climb Mount Everest, but failed. A few weeks later a group in England asked him to address its members. Hillary walked on stage to a thunderous applause. The audience was recognizing an attempt at greatness, but Edmund Hillary saw himself as a failure. He moved away from the microphone and walked to the edge of the platform. He made a fist and pointed at a picture of the mountain. He said in a loud voice, "Mount Everest, you beat me the first time, but I'll beat you the next time because you've grown all you are going to grow... but I'm still growing!" - Brian Cavanaugh "The Sower's Seeds"
